Nobody, certainly, will deny that the idea of the existence of an omnipotent, just, and omnibeneficent personal God is able to accord man solace, help, and guidance; also, by virtue of its simplicity it is accessible to the most undeveloped mind. But, on the other hand, there are decisive weaknesses attached to this idea in itself, which have been painfully felt since the beginning of history. That is, if this being is omnipotent, then every occurrence, including every human action, every human thought, and every human feeling and aspiration is also His work; how is it possible to think of holding men responsible for their deeds and thoughts before such an almighty Being? In giving out punishment and rewards He would to a certain extent be passing judgment on Himself. How can this be combined with the goodness and righteousness ascribed to Him?
Before I post in response to Einstein, would anyone like to comment on this?

I think Einstein's logic does not hold water. In fact it sounds like a moody child rambling to me. See, just because God is omnipotent, that doesn't mean every human action is His work. If your son disobeys you, you are not punishing yourself by punishing him. That would make no sense at all! In fact, the law written on man's heart that says a criminal should be punished for murder just goes to show that God is just for punishing sin. It is because He is righteous that He punishes.
He made man in His image, and being in God's image, each man has the ability to make decisions. Amazingly God gave us free will. Therefore each man is responsible for his own actions and decisions. He says, "how is it possible to think of holding men responsible for their deeds and thoughts before such an almighty Being?" We were made in the image of God.
But because He remembers that "we are made of dust", He has mercy on us! And all we have to do is submit. But some people, who think God is so big that He shouldn't be allowed to punish us-- at the same time say that He is not big enough to deserve their worship.
It is futile to rage against God's grace.
